Fencing masterclass with Woody Craig
Join us for fencing master class with the inspirational Edward “Woody” Craig.
The class will build fencing attributes across all weapons and will be as helpful to rapier fencers as it will be to sabreurs, even if Woody is a rapier champion. Woody is a passionate coach who seeks to develop fencers through meeting their direct development needs to help build clean and efficient fencing movements and inspire the development of sophisticated tactics. His teaching style has a strong focus on practical direct outcomes with the goal of facilitating fencers in landing clean clear hits through tailored learning. Woody is adept at running classes through student centred fencing instruction to the extent that he has been paid to teach throughout Australia, and internationally. His YouTube Channel is also an amazing resource for anyone interested in the finer points of historical fencing.
Woody is an exquisite fencer, being currently the four ranked rapier fencer in the world proudly boasting 86 wins out of 103 recorded fights in Mixed Steel Single Rapier, along with a string of accolades in everything from sword and buckler to mixed weapons competitions. He is also ranked in the top ten overall fencers on the AHFL Leaderboard. Woody is also a major innovator in the study of rapier sources, taking a keen interest in Fabris which he has worked to make accessible through doing video readings and developing dynamic drills to help supplement it.
