Weapons Taught
Cutlass and Sabre - Use of cut and thrust sword stretches back through British history, the same fencing style being used for each. While the shorter cutlass was used by sailors and even the police the sabre was the preferred weapon of army officers and cavalry.
Duelling sword - A light thrusting sword descended from the small sword and rapier. We practice a style from when modern Olympic epee was being developed from contemporary foil play.
Dagger and bowie knife - In the late 19th century large knives became more common as weapons. Discreetly carried under a coat or skirt they could quickly used should one encounter any unpleasantness.
Longsword - The classic medieval two handed sword. We base our curriculum on longsword systems developed in the Victorian period though.
